The shops at the MetroCentre are spread across two floors and five main malls; Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and Platinum. There are also themed shopping areas for independent retailers; The Village, The Forum and Qube. The mall is home to over 60 cafes, restaurants and places to eat. There’s also an Odeon IMAX Cinema and a Namco FunScape, complete with bowling, dodgems, soft play and a pool hall.
The large “anchor” shops at the MetroCentre include Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser – they’re on both floors. Other shops include; Argos, Primark, Sports Direct, H&M, TK Maxx and BHS. Places to eat include; Caffé Nero, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Starbucks, KFC, McDonalds and the Big Lukes restaurant.
There’s also free WiFi at the centre!
If you exit the Yellow mall, it’s a short walk to MetrOasis (Oasis Metro Centre) – with its Toby Carvery, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Harvester and drive-through Starbucks. MetrOasis is next to the Retail Park with its large stores such as Bensons for Beds, Next Home, Toys R Us, Oak Furniture Land and food places such as McDonalds and Pizza Hut.
A few minutes walk from MetrOasis is a huge supermarket – Asda Gateshead Supercentre.
